How about buying a new one, spraying it with something or using that red stuff you can coat handles with and the new one will last a long, long time.

Well, how bout a no 10 can and a plate to fit, hole near top of can, fill it, plate on top flip it water comes out hole just like one you buy, or supposed to. Leastways that what some of the old farm books show. I general have scored enough at the dump to make it through, then when they are bigger, I switch over to a small trough.

If its a pin hole most likely a thick coat of paint will stop it. Find some old enamel paint and keep adding layers til it stops leaking or at least slows down enough you can live with it.
