I agree with the recommendations to see a doctor. I had a partial MCL tear when I was 18, and was treated with PT. It supposedly healed well, but even now, I have very poor balance on that knee and it does give out occasionally if I have my weight positioned wrong. I've noticed that it acts up when I have skipped the exercises that I received at PT all of those years ago.
