My tractor is not really a tractor. It's an HD-5 AC track loader/bulldozer. I have both the bucket and the blade. It's nearly as old as I am, slow beyond measure, but the most usefull machine I have ever owned. I wish it would accept more modern implements without having to improvise, but it uses about a gallon of diesel per hour, will lift about 8000#, has a DD 2-71 engine that might just last forever. Won't rollover like a rubber tired tractor and can't get flat tires. With a little practice, it will dig, grade, lift, destroy buildings, haul 1 1/2 yards of dirt or gravel, etc. Has hydraluic take-off for running presses and other stuff. Sold my New Holland TC 45 for 22K with all the toys and bought this for 6K with no regrets. Lots of them out there.....Joe

I had a neifghbor sell his GP JD for $50. I begged dad to buy it. He didnt, a neighbor hid bought it, Took the rear end apart, and finally pushed it off in a ditch. Id like to have one, but have no ujse for it.

A F-30 with starter and hydraulics, cultivators. BUT< I dont really have any use for something that big anymore either.

Ford 5000.

Sure have liked it since I found it 4 years ago.

Got 5 Ford/NH tractors, an Oliver and 2 Farmalls, some a lot bigger and some a lot smaller, as well as newer and older.

That Ford 5000 is just such a nice balance. Might be a little big for a small homestead at 60 hp, but nice machine.

544 Farmall hydro. Loved the hydros. The one I really wanted was a 4030 John Deere powershift. But they never made it. I had a 3020 powershift but wanted a cab tractor. Had to buy a 4230. Had to wait until the 4040 came out to get powershift in that size tractor but it had as much power as the 4020....James

Like picking just one gun, it is as impossible for a farmer to pick just one tractor: just as it is impossible for a hunter to choose just one gun.

I would like a 6030 John deere for a mid sized machine, a 3020 for the small jobs choice, and a 900 versatile for the 4WD. If I had to choose from 1975!

A farm needs more than one tractor, so I had to choose more than just one. Sorry! lol

Can't narrow it to just one. I'd love to have a 35-40 hp diesel, something for raking and running my brush hog. A MF 135-165 would work, so would a DB 880, Case 630, Ford 3000, Duetz 3006. I also need a larger rig for the round baler and plowing. A 5000 Ford would be real nice, but my heart swings towards my neighbors 1030 Case. Not so nimble, but a power house. Probably anything with a Perkins of 85 or so hp would do it.

These days if I could have just one, it'd probably be a good loader/backhoe. I have a 1010 Deere crawler/loader/backhoe but rubber is soooooooo much handier.

A White 145. The neighbor has one and it's just right for me. I'd also take a Farmal 835 with the hydrostatic transmission. That would be perfect for baling.

I'd like another D15 allis chalmer, but with a front loader, 28 in rear tires, and a canopy.
I've always wanted a tractor with the efficiency and lugging power of a 2-cylinder JD, the easy of off and on of an old Ford or Ferguson, and the pulling power of an
an Allis.

I can only have one....... OK a Ford 7000 flat deck. It can do everything a 5000 can, but uses less fuel and it has 20 more hp. Nicer to drive, better viability, not a lot bigger, just taller. Better steering system too.

Had DB's but they have wonky hydraulic controls. Love Old Masseys and yeah there are Masseys I may have yet. IH? Well I really like 80's IHs A 2130 Deere is near bullet proof. Hard not to like most older Deeres 60hp+.

Flat decks are hard to find. I knew of a select O speed 5000 with a flat deck

Yeah thats it. Not un-common here, local dealer has a cab version. I have a 6710 which is newer but non turbo. At this point I'd get a 7710 or a 401 cubic inch 6 cyl 7810
