If it is a hydrostatic transmission the neutral switch may be causing it to do this. Shake the lever and it may start. I had to do this on mine.

I'm gonna piggyback on his thread a bit, hope I don't offend anyone but OP hasn't posted for a few days so he's likely gone anyway.

Would this tractor be suitable for my 1 acre yard as a general grass mower or is it too big? There is a B7300 and a B1550 for sale near me for basically the same price. My riding mower is shot and I'm thinking this would be a good time to upgrade while we continue to look for a small farm or acreage.

It may be to big but if you are planing to increase your acres it is beat to have a big tractor than one to small. it has a 5 foot deck on it.

I have a B7800, and I'm not sure how similar they are, but this occasionally happens to me too. Is there a knob under the seat, right near the reverse? Because my husband always kicks that somehow, and it must turn. I believe it has something to do with the hydraulics. Well, if you turn it one way or the other, for some reason that can make the difference. The other day it happened (just a click from the starter), and DH turned the key with the clutch down, while I turned the knob one way or the other, and it started right up.
