Another sure-sign of spring, is the return of the sandhills.
Thought I heard a couple of them "crunkling"
last evening and then this morning, a pair flew
overhead at 75 feet and going due north.
I waved and I swear, they tipped their
heads in acknowledgment! Welcome back.

I saw about 20 robins last Friday morning on the west side of Ann Arbor, I haven't seen or heard any cranes or robins yet out here in Stockbridge, but some of our bulbs are sprouting.
I always consider spring truly here when the red winged blackbirds return
