Location, Location, Location.

All other things being equal, I would opt for the land and smaller house. I larger house can be added to the larger land later, if needed.

Have it all put in writing!
Rent to own lease purchase, whatever. Get it in writing now!

I would go for the smaller house on Moreland that you own. If I understand, the other property is a lease!

If you own the bigger lot, presumably, your kids could each or together buy a trailer or a mobile home to move to your place, and the you still get to see them, but they are no longer underfoot or expecting to be fed.

Or they could go out on their own and support themselves. Either way, you and your hubby will have the smaller house all to yourselves.

I am curious how the discussion played out with your husband when you got a chance to talk and what your outcome was???

I would go for the one with larger property, your son could always put a yurt or small house on it and be off the grid and start the steps to being on his own.

Your daughter could also do the same, this way she could continue to take care of her son and be close to home if something comes up.

Is one home close to work? Better services? Lower costs of.living? You need to factor as many things as you can into the decision and then decide what is important to you
