I was thinking of a 14 Seer Heat Pump, but then caught wind of GeoThermal. Not sure I can afford the initial costs, but I'm looking seriously at this possibility.
Any help is appreciated.

Steve, I'd check with your EMC to get info on incentives and installers as a baseline. This is my first time finding "homesteadingtoday", but some great Q&A from the participants/contributors. Do a Google for GSHP in GA. There are trained loop installers--where to pay special attention--who perform the polyethelene fusing of tube joints (stronger than any other coupling method). Fusing is necessary to get the 50+ years of loop life. This is terrific technology and one GIANT stride away from increasing dependency on oil. <Jim in Lilburn>
