My dream home is for sale!

We have a really great setup where we are now, but we live in Minnesota and my Southern soul longs for the South of my youth.

Just spotted this place for sale. If only I had a spare $4.4 million and could talk hubby into moving- I'd be there in a flash!

Check it out-

Pam6 01/25/13 03:35 PM

starjj 01/25/13 03:43 PM

Wow Just let me win the big lottery and I am there.

Lowball offer?

mythreesons 01/25/13 03:52 PM

I love the land..the house not so much.

simi-steading 01/25/13 03:56 PM

Have someone from down south ship you up some Spanish moss and start tossing it on your trees... a lot cheaper... ;)

oregon woodsmok 01/25/13 04:05 PM

You can sure get a nice place if you have tons of money to spend.

notbutanapron 01/25/13 04:23 PM

Whoa. That house looks like a Queenslander style home almost. They're everywhere here with land that looks just like that, only Aussie flora/fauna. Only the kitchen is way more redone than they tend to be. 800 acres... hmmm... that was 1.1m here about an hour away from the city if I recall.

mekasmom 01/25/13 05:37 PM

The tree is pretty, but it is too colonial for my liking. I do like the roof color.

rancher1913 01/25/13 06:28 PM

that conservation easement would be a deal breaker for me. don't like development but really don't like someone telling me what I can't do on my own land.

I love the outside of the house, but hate the interior decor...way too "formal" for me.

pheasantplucker 01/26/13 04:57 AM

800 acres...I'd pass. I require a minimum of 801.

freegal 01/26/13 07:09 AM

I love it! DH would spend all of his time fishing on the lake.

gracie88 01/26/13 10:52 AM

Wow. If we win the lottery I'll buy you that one and me one up here in the PNW. Everyone should have a dream home in the land of their youth :)

Elizabeth 01/26/13 01:38 PM

Thank you Gracie.

I'll make you a deal- if I win the MegaMillions lottery game I will buy you your dream home!

Good luck!

I'm more inclined to believe that the kitchen they show is in that house than the bedrooms. I would think that the house that those bedrooms belong to has a much more serious kitchen than the one in that ad. Something isn't right.

Here is where I had a horse boarded for two plus years:

Wonderful facility and a lovely facility that I would enjoy just going to to visit!

Elizabeth 01/27/13 10:13 AM

Well, it is a restored 1820's house. My guess is that, when the house was built, it probably had a separate kitchen out behind the house which is no longer there.

I will probably have to spend some of my lottery winnings making improvements to the kitchen situation, because I am all about having a great kitchen to work in, lol. I will also have to do some redecorating. I agree, the current arrangement is not to my liking either.

But, since I will probably be spending most of my time outside hunting dove, quail, turkey, and deer, and maybe even hogs, that is, when I am not out fishing on one of the ponds, or hiking around my property with my dogs, I am not too concerned about the interior right now :)

sidepasser- lovely place!
