It's not bad here, today. Wind has settled down so the 14 degrees isn't bad...not too thrilled with the snow, though. When that wind kicks up and wind chill is 30 degrees below air temp....it's cold to me.

I think it's comes down to what's normal for you. We had fun when it was 50 here and people we out jogging in summer clothes, while is was also 50 in So. Cal and they were in winter coats and whining on the news at how cold it was. Just like CF's and WIIH's -29 air temp would get us whining (well, not whining, but we wouldn't be going out for anything other then refilling the wood pile on the deck)....but for them it's not unusual, so they can "handle it" better then we can.

Where's the doesn't like button?

2 puffs of breeze on top of that would get real ugly, real quick.

Here in s central Ky, yesterday early morning we had a mix of rain and freezing. We had ice forming 1/4" to 1/2" thick. Couldn't even get up the drive..... Today, we're still inside and waiting for the high of 42 to melt some of this off. Need to go fetch some wood from the shed..... Looks really icey out there! The beauty of living here in Ky, you can go from hot as Hades to freezing all in the same day. Seen it happen.

As the sun rises, it is -8*F right now. We've been down to -21*F this week.

The sunshine feels nice but it gets miserable quick if the wind picks up. I like the clear cold days of midwinter. I have been doing stuff outside but not as far and not as often.
In winter you can keeping adding more layers of clothing but in summer, there is only so much that you can take off.

52° and cloudy when the sun came up. 65° and sunny currently. Think I will fire up the motorcycle and meet the missus for lunch. If she doesn't have a to do list for me this afternoon I think I will get the tiller into the new garden spot.

And to all y'all with the 20's, teens, and negative temps: keep the door closed! We don't want any down here!

It is actually quite warm here for Jan. 44.4° according to my digital outdoor thermometer.

And we are getting a LOT of rain from a subtropical band of moisture. It's great!

Not bad. According to the newspaper it was -25°F but we're up on a hill above the valley so it was only -15°F since the cold air settles into the town valley. We do get more wind - cover up.

This has been a pretty warm winter, pleasantly so. Normally we get -25°F for quite a bit and sometimes down to -45°F which is hard to breath in. I don't mind missing out on that.
