Of all the garden hoses I've had and used over the years, the black Craftsman hoses have been the very best. I've got one that's probably 20+ years old now. I've never had one leak, never had a fitting fail. Not saying others haven't, just that I haven't. They coil easily, yet resist kinking.

I've bought some fine heavy duty hoses with heavy brass end at Sams club...they seem to be the best I've ever used, and about half the price of something similar at TSC.

The cheaper hoses usually have connections that are made from thin brass tubing and have the threads formed into them. They wear out very quickly.

Thanks for the tip.
I finally quit fooling myself about saving money and buy made in the USA heavy duty hoses with the heavy duty brass fittings. No kinks, no leaks and they last I couldnt say how much longer than just the next grade down.

When I had to replace fittings, I used the heavy duty brass replacements . I took them off the lesser hoses as they went belly up to have on hand.
