Whats for breakfast?

Me...
Well its Fry Bread (a few pieces lol) Sage sausage and Scrambled eggs.
Been on this Scrambled egg kick lately usually I prefer fried easy over.
I've been adding in crushed peper flakes and a bit of onion powder.
If I had some I'd use thin sliced green onions and fresh hot peppers instead.
Oh and I really have not done this since I was a kid and it was the only way to get me to eat eggs but a bit of ketchup, but once again if I had it I would trade for some salsa.

So far this AM, it's been 1 cup of coffee....... headed for my 2nd..
Still mulling over whether it should be oatmeal, pancakes, eggs, pizza (leftovers), or a combo of..... figure I'll decide in another hour or so - once I turn this darn thing off.

SFM in KY 01/20/13 05:18 AM

Sourdough toast and chocolate/coffee. Plain buttered toast and coffee has been my standard breakfast for years. I can't deal with sweet or greasy first thing in the morning so if I get hungry for sausage, bacon, pancakes, french toast or eggs, that is supper for me.

MushCreek 01/20/13 05:59 AM

On my 'commute' between SC and FL, I discovered a great sausage place (Carroll's) at the half-way point (Ashburn, GA). This morning I'm having some of their Jalapeno Cheddar breakfast sausage. Yes, it's hot. Yes, it's GOOD!

||Downhome|| 01/20/13 06:13 AM

what a coincidence WIIH mine was pre-breakfast too... LOL
I'm out of eggs though. :runforhills:
when the market opens up I'll rectify that and probably do a repeat except with some has browns added.

Maybe some turn overs to boot. at least my version, I've got the dough made already.

countryfied2011 01/20/13 06:14 AM

nothing yet....DH's turn to cook today....and all I hear coming out of him right now is snoring~

jwal10 01/20/13 06:26 AM

0430 here, a cup of hot chocolate and an apple cinnamon roll that Sweetie made last evening...James

Tricky Grama 01/20/13 07:07 AM

Every Sunday, just ol' bacon & eggs, toast & coffee, oj.

Hannah90 01/20/13 08:49 AM

Just coffee for me. Have never been one to be able to eat in the morning. Typically will eat the first food around 10 or 11.

Kmac15 01/20/13 09:02 AM

DH is starting the biscuits to go with the sausage gravy, bacon and fried eggs. Sunday is my breakfast making day off.

Rick 01/20/13 09:10 AM

Thanks Downhome, :smack.

Gonna eat toasted oats with juice (since the kefir is not "keefed" yet) , raisins, 'nanas, cinnamon, ginger - topped with organic granola.

I am salivating for sausage and easy over eggs though!

We restrict ourselves to about one fourth of the meat most folks would eat.

I think we'll have to have some baked white taters , salad and T-bone tomorrow!

AtomicFarmer 01/20/13 09:18 AM

For me, it was 3 home raised scrambled egg whites, made into an omelette (sort of) with a splash of milk, 3 oz. cubed ham, crushed red pepper flakes, a splash of garlic powder, a splash of no salt seasoning blend, and diced red onion, topped with a dollop of Frank's Red Hot. I also had a banana and a chocolate rice cake, and my usual morning Nectar Of The Gods (black coffee with sweet n low).

All of this was 423 calories, according to the weight tracking website that I use. I'm watching what I eat and exercising and steadily losing weight every week.

SSacres 01/20/13 09:21 AM

Hubby's birthday, so Bacon, biscuits & gravy, fried potatos and scrambled eggs. A big breakfast doesn't happen very often around here, because we're on different work/sleep schedules.

BobbyB 01/20/13 09:26 AM

Biscuits, pan sausage, eggs and taters . Unless I change my mind and cook pancakes, pan sausage and eggs

MO_cows 01/20/13 09:57 AM

Pancake sandwiches - a short stack with an over easy egg in the middle. Had some REAL maple syrup in the house, mmmmm. Bacon. Coffee.

am1too 01/20/13 10:14 AM

Coffee, buttered toast with jelly. Does vary according to what is on sale at the grocery store.

JHinCA 01/20/13 10:23 AM

Today it's leftover baked apples, home made cottage cheese, cream, tea for me, coffee for DH.

CherieOH 01/20/13 10:28 AM

I had scrambled eggs and Italian sausage at 4AM. Thinking of having another breakfast for lunch at noon, maybe sourdough toast with bacon and bacon gravy and some homefries on the side. I make healthier choices the rest of the week, but Sunday is a day of rest even from my diet. And breakfast is my favorite meal, any time of day.

ajaxlucy 01/20/13 10:37 AM

Oatmeal with raisins & almonds & maple syrup, 2 cups of black coffee. I'm thinking about making real breakfast (buckwheat pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon) for supper tonight.

Lunch will be leftover beef heart stew over rice.

I agree - even if our Sunday Breakfasts are once or twice monthly!

Sausage, bacon, pancakes or waffles, eggs butter...hmmmm.

What in the world do the Paleo diet crowd do for breads and such for Sunday breakfast. (We do eat a lot less bread and flour products than we used to! Not at Sunday Breakfast tho)

ronbre 01/20/13 11:04 AM

leftover cheesey hashbrowns with grass fed horomone free no gmo beef, mushrooms, and a plate of fresh fruit (strawberries, blueberries and pineapple) that I had a great online coupon for at the store..

Sorry Rick! I'll start eating your share now that I know that though....
Theres always a whats for dinner thread kicking around so I thought why not.

I have to have my meat its a good part of my diet, I'm pretty healthy to except for a hereditary disease called old age it just keeps progressing and well they don't have a cure for it yet.
I just keep making the best of it and enjoy the things I enjoy.
I do eat veggies but meats and carbs are my main stay.
Just do what the body wants me too. I get a craving I feed it.
Like I said been on this scrambled egg kick, I have not been eating eggs for a while but all of a sudden just have this hunger for them, I'll do that with carbs and dairy also and sometimes veggies but more often fruit. I'm not big on candy but do get in to sweet tooth binges here and there, cake cookies and pie well more often, same with Ice cream.
Very few pleasures in life but food should always be one of them!

Good thread, old chap. Enjoy! We eat eggs regularly and dream of the day we'll have chickens here.

Chucknbob 01/20/13 01:08 PM

I made waffles, just like grandma made them. I had fried bananas and syrup on top, wifey had blackberry preserves and whipped cream.

I usually eat healthy, but sometimes I get an urge for grandmas waffles.

mountainlaurel 01/20/13 02:02 PM

fried egg on a homemade biscuit. Hot Earl Grey tea. Breakfast isn't a big thing around here. Most of my family gets sick of they eat before 10:00 am. Yes, I find them weird:gaptooth:

rxkeith 01/20/13 07:44 PM

what we usually do here is oats soaked overnight with some yogurt.
the next morning we cook them, add in a egg or two, wild blueberries, some strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, currants whatever is at hand. throw in a big dollop of homemade apple sauce, a tablespoon of ground flax/sun flower/sesame seed mix. add some cinnamon, a sprinkle of slivered almonds, and some pure maple syrup and voila! breakfast

AtomicFarmer 01/20/13 07:46 PM
