IIRC (so don't quote me) in FL we don't have a blade restriction for open carry. There is one for concealed carry, but a carry permit would allow a larger blade to be carried concealed. Autos are supposed to be restricted, but they seem to have either lifted that ban or stopped enforcing it. My personal carry is a Benchmade 3550skb.

Most state have a maximum blade length that you can carry concealed, some states it's four inches. You can also carry a knife with a longer length blade if you do it openly. You just need to check you local laws.

I live on a farm, every day. I wear overalls, every day. I carry a knife, every day. Sometimes several.

GAH these turds and their stupid control freak crap. Why don't you just worry about the people who actually have injured someone, and leave the rest of us alone!!!???!!!

Government can only do what the citizens allow. And as long as we continue to allow them to micromanage every aspect of our daily lives, issues like this will only get worse.

sorry if I took your original question off on a tangent, but I broke my rule and read the news yesterday. I'm fairly annoyed with govt at the moment!!
You can "open carry" in kansas if thats any consolation.
My youngest bought a knife at the gun show a few weeks back.
I didn't pay much attention,, he buys a knife everytime we go, I don't care.
Come to find out later,, it was illegal. Its a folding knife with the blade over 6". Go figure.
He likes clipping it to his belt, I just told him to put his shirt over it. And probably a good idea not to wear it to school, otherwise, I may be getting a phone call.

I've been pulled over, and searched, and told them I had a knife before they started looking.. They say thanks, but are more worried about if you have a gun or drugs on you..

I've been handed back my illegal knife more than once, and put it back in my pocket as they watched...
ITA. My DH is a cop here in VA, and his teenaged son carries a folding blade in his pocket DH knows he has it and has never told him that he shouldn't carry it because it's illegal.

Of course DH also carries a concealed knife and at least one concealed gun when he's not on duty, but because he's a cop he's allowed to do this. The LEO conceal/carry permit that he has is good for all of the lower 48 states, AND he can legally CC into a "gun free" school zone as well.

Talking

I still get a laugh when I was working as a Meat Cutter,I had bought a New Pair of Boots and went back to the Nurses Station to get them, they was tied I just got my Sheath Knife and cut the string.Later Foreman came got me took me to the Office, they asked if I had a Sheath Knife? Yes.Oh you can't have that weapon in here! You have got to be kidding me hundreds of knives in this place and I can't have this one?

My Mom took a Switchblade away from me one time,I carry a Knife now I can open just as fast and much heavier.
