I seem to have a constant mess here with mine but we've (now I've) been heating with wood since the early 1980's so I guess I'm just used to it now....I do want to get a fire-proof pad that is half a circle to put out in front of my heater...it sits up on a raised hearth but out in front there's always a coal or something burning a tiny place in the tile....so I do need to get that....

I just couldn't leave the big spider carcass under the wood rack until spring. It creeped me out too bad.

I have to clean up occasionally. I've been cracking black walnuts down there and shells tend to fly everywhere. And I can't stand the sawdust being drug around the house when dh has been cutting wood by the stove.
