I used to work for a company that did a lot of energy management work for institutions and commercial customers. We installed tons of motion detection sensors. On one job, we were getting hammered by an employee who claimed that the sensors were garbage, and that his room was constantly dark. Since we can set the system up to be sensitive enough to trigger on finger movement, across the room, his claim seemed suspicious. We had a tech. set this complainer's room to maximum sensitivity and maximum time delay, and then test everything. As far as we could determine, unless you were dead, the lights should stay on. The guy continued to complain, until one of the techs did a little surveilance. Turns out the guy would fall asleep at his desk, and then whine that the room was dark. Well, there wasn't much we could do about that.......... If you can't even wiggle a finger every fifteen minutes, you aren't doing your part. OTOH, I have seen plenty of places where sensors were placed in public bathrooms, and the stall doors blocked the beam. Nothing like having to toss your shoe in the air to get the lights to come back on, LOL......
