I suspect Bill knew it was a scam but posted just to liven up the board; he's good at doing that.

I'd think that, for whatever difference the exchange rate, it would still be far less expensive to buy a tractor in Australia than to buy one here and have it shipped. If he hasn't provided a number or contacted you again within the next few weeks, you should have your answer. =/'

Still, don't leave us hanging Farmboy! What was the other forum, and what type of bank was he looking to send the funds through?

I had never heard of it, so I checked, and there is a Ft Calhoun in Nebr. So, Possibly, If I hadnt heard of it living in Kans and Okla all my life, he shouldnt have either.
He said he would mail me a (some kind of check the likes of which I dont remember at this writeing, but is in my E mail with his postinig).
I pmed him back that yes I had another tractor and gave a discription.
I asked him how I was supposed to check up on his driver as he hadnt givin me his ph#
That I would not proceed with the sale UNTIL I had BOTH cashed his check, AND waited for the bank to clear it.

Havnt received a response as yet, as all this happened less than an hour ago.
Even if the check clears, your bank can still hold the funds. Sounds like scam and unless he wire transfers the money....be very careful.

I just sold a truck to a guy in the Bush , sight unseen. Had it posted on Craigslist and had a bunch of scam replies. This guy sent me a purchase agreement and a copy of his drivers license. I signed , copied and sent the agreement back with a copy of my license. He then sent a cashiers check for the correct amount which was good. After I cashed it I sent him the Title and key. He had a tow truck haul it to the dealership to do any work it might need then was going to have it barged to the island he was on.Be very wary of offers that seem too good to be true but sometimes they are legit. Some people just have more money than common sense.

Classic line from the movie Taken. Right? I only saw that movie once and it was years ago, but I remember those powerful words.
