Ad news of my attitude in hiring help

You ALLOW 2 unexcused absences before firing? If I was a boss i'd fire on the second unless someone called ahead and gave me warning.. But i'd be made even with the first. Everyone has phones these days- why give them three chances?

1 I no longer furnish lunch. It has always been apart of the work to sit down with a good hot lunch but no longer.

If you furnish a hot meal I think the employee is obgliated to stay and begin working when you are done. If you tell them "you have 1/2 hour or one hour" for lunch be prepared to have them leave the site and maybe return on time. You should also give them a fixed lunch hour in case they need to pay a bill or something else that cannot be done during working hours. That is the dissafvantage of no free lunch.
