I built a bucket trap, it works! I think I have run out of mice. I am always disappointed when it is empty. I caught about 20 this winter.

Mice are pretty dumb but they can sometimes seem smart because we tend to overthink control measures. Traps work very well. If you have mice and traps don't work it is either due to old bait or placing them where mice do not run. Rebait and move them to another wall. A trap that has caught one mouse will catch more quicker than a new trap because it has mouse scent already on it. Mice are not scared off by a dead mouse in a trap. All they see is lunch. They will chew a hole in the dead mouse's skull and eat its brain. Interesting critters but i hate them.
