The tractor isn't new any more. A lot of scratches already. Have cut 8 acres of very dense 2 inch thick scrub trees these last few days. The brush hog still free wheels nicely when it is disengaged. Have fixed my roads somewhat and have gotten a road back to the woodlot.
The tractor does really well on the steep slopes I have here. I am glad I got it as I think that, if you don't get your stuff now you won't be able to get it later. Just the way things are going.

Thanks every one. And to the one who is jealous I say come on over and I will let you drive it all you want. It is a tool I have wanted since we started homesteading in 2004.

Am planning on having a large garden next year. Have to get a subsoiler and run it through the ground and try to locate any large rocks. Go real slow with just enough power to pull it. Was thinking about trying to get a two bottom plow, and a set of harrows. Have put aside some seeds and am going to get some more. Have the canner and some jars. I cant eat corn on the cob but I can cut off the corn and eat it that way. Love beets, peas, beans, cauliflower. Want to try strawberries. Anyway you all can see why I got the tractor.
With my invention for keeping deer out of the garden I should have a great harvest next year. I have a 100 gallon tank with a pump for the pick up.

Thanks every one for all the posts about everything, they have helped with my decision making as to what to get to be prepared. I am going to get a 500 gallon fuel storage tank for the diesel oil, that should last a year or two.

Good looking tractor Dave. We use a middle buster for our garden to break up the soil and then I also use it to make the rows and I have found I dont even need a 2 bottom plow though we do have a 3pt tiller. We havent gotten a disk harrow yet due to having the tiller (but plan to) and we made a drag harrow ourselves to drag the pasture. You will find your new tractor to be a real asset.

I love the color. Only thing I don't like about it, or it appears the top is not metal. Had a big tree top fall out and would of killed me had I not had one on the old MF. Bent the heck out of it. I was not pushing or messing with the tree when it fell. Timber working is very dangerous. Had a neighbor that was getting wood out, he and his brother and limb fell and hit him and injured him so severly that he had a heart attack and died. Be careful in the trees.

Congrats, I have a 5105 4wd and I love it. If you didn't already you might want to consider a block heater for winter starting. I also added rear work lights which come in handy.
