To not be grumpy...I have to stay inside except for the coolest hours of the morning. Otherwise, I send Dh on an errand until I get ungrumpy.

No grumpiness here...even being home together all day without AC we have managed to remain civil...LOL. We are holding up okay...actually getting used these temps as I was able to carry out most of my usual household activities (except cooking...no way I am turning on the stove) even though inside the house was in the 90s (it was over 100 outside)...It was uncomfortable for sure but not unbearable.

The goats are doing okay too...production has dropped a bit but not as much as I expected it to. They have a lot of shade and I've been refreshing their water frequently so they always have a cool drink available. They pretty much just hang out in the shade during the day...they will browse in the morning and evenings as long as I keep fly spray on them--the deer flies are horrendous around here...no mosquitos, at least!

noticed that yesterday--just grumpy and surly for no reason, then realized there is a reason, the heat. not a very good reason! I do have a nice aired house, and plenty of things I like to do inside that house. just miss being outside more. yesterday was so muggy it was like having plastic over your mouth, just couldn't get a solid breath. today at least was better than that.

It's Summer, I don't handle the heat well. If it's over 75 I am sweating.
It was 92 here in North East Texas today so, yup count me in, I am hot, crabby, sweaty, and tired from working outside with a chainsaw. Two layers of clothes, gloves, headgear and leg chaps. I can't work like this for more then a couple of hours in this heat. Glad it is not any hotter. Yet! Summer is just getting going here.

I get extremely cranky when I'm too hot, lol. I have a heart condition, and I just don't handle it well at all. But I realize that about myself and make a special effort not to take it out on people when I'm out and about. I smile and try to say something to make them smile to make their day a little better...and then I just grumble to myself once I'm safely inside my truck, ROFL! People probably think I'm crazy, sitting there talking to myself!

That's another thing, my truck AC just hasn't been working well, started in the middle of last summer. I've had it checked twice by two different people, and they both said nothing is wrong with it, but it just doesn't get cool or blow as hard as it used to! When I'm running errands all day, it never even starts to get cool between stops (it's actually cooler to just roll the windows down) and just finally gets halfway decently cool by the time I get home, 45 minutes from town. I'm always a sopping wet, cranky mess by the time I get here, lol. And this Friday is my "town day", argh!

Noticed on the local news the other day that the people who work in the Internal Revenue building had to be sent home because of the heat.
The AC would only cool the building to 75.

Yes. grumpy. I feel bad for my outside animals and the STUPID firecrackers didn't help the situation last night.

I told my goats to go eat the garden....... I just can't take it anymore........ Got a haircut yesterday and the wife is calling me skunk because I have two pale white stripes going down the side of my head from not getting any sun. Just came in for a break from the heat and wouldn't you know it, now I look like a reverse chicken with two bright red stripes down the side of my head. She is gonna laugh her head off, last thing she told me before I went outside this morning was to put some sunscreen on my skunk stripes. I hate it when they are right........

I hope everybody has a great day and can find a little humor in the heat. Laughing with the family kinda makes it all worth it.

Farm on people, farm on!

Respect.

Chris

The heat hasn't made me grumpy, although I've been having a tough time sleeping at night because of it. My Mom bought me an AC unit today (much to my surprise). It's much more comfortable now but I'm afraid I'll loose my acclimation to the heat.

Nope, the heat doesn't make me grumpy. But, I'm rarely grumpy, except when I get hungry. DSW says it has to do with my blood sugar. So, when I get hungry & start to get grumpy, (It doesn't happen often.) I go get myself something to eat, and I'm fine.
I have a very high metabolism, though.

yes,i get a little grumpy as i want to be outside more often doing 'stuff' instead of being cooped up inside with the house all closed up but i do love my air conditioner in this heat but would rather have the windows open as much as possible since the house has to be closed up all winter!!
I also feel bad for my animals as this heat is hard on them...giving them fresh water several times a day as no one wants to drink hot water when its this hot~~
My garden & flowers are pitiful looking this year from the heat-all that work for nothing~~
