It's been over 100º here for nearly three weeks and looks to continue for the foreseeable future. How hot - Homesteading Questions We've had several days where it was over 110º, as well, but fortunately they haven't all been in a row...

For about a month now, we've had fires almost every night, somewhere in the area.

Why have fires when it's so hot? We only start having fires when it gets too cool at night. Around Sept. First.

We've had a heat wave in Houlton Maine. The temps have been double digits for months!

NW Oregon, it's 45 at 8 AM. We may get our first 80 degree day of the year tomorrow. It might hit 75 today. Been cold and rainy all of June. We have a fire going in the woodstove. We don't consider it a blessing either. My garden is nearly nonexistent.

Here in WA State, Kitsap County, 45F, also. Everything is doing great, except for the heat lovers, who are limping along. The warmer temps will sure help! I garden in raised beds, primarily, with some in ground areas. The Squash are doing better than the Cucumbers! Right now, picking Peas, Strawberries, new Potatoes, Lettuces, and other cool weather crops. Our weather has been nothing compared to the rest of the Country.

No complaints here, will make do, feel terrible for all those suffering in the heat wave! In addition, praying for those who are victims of fire. CO has been hit so hard, it is incredibly sad.

The hottest it has been here so far is 103*F. It is supposed to be 99*F today with a heat index of 115*F. We DO NOT have air-conditioning (as many people around here) but I am actually handling it better than I thought I would...I am young and healthy though. There has only been one significant rain in the past 2 1/2 months which is dryer than I can ever remember. Crops are obviously doing very poorly....

We've hit 100 a couple times but it's been in the 90s most days. We really need rain here. The yards and pastures are crispy, just dust in many areas. We're still cleaning up from Friday's storm. Trees are down everywhere and it left a mess in the area. We are lucky some people still don't have power back on.

Today's high in Central NY is supposed to be 92 degrees. However, it is only 86 right now. It is humid and miserable, though.
