IMO it would depend on how predator proof you can build a building, what kind of livestock and what time of day you would be visiting. Chickens can be kept in a well ventilated building during most of the day and left out for a quick run around the property shortly before sunset. Rabbits can be kept indoors if the building is well ventilated. Ducks would need a water tub and a good floor drain system but otherwise could be kept like chickens. Bees might work well with that kind of set-up.

And it depends on the type of predators you have, 2 and 4 legged. You'll have the worst problems from people or neighborhood dogs.

Would you be able to build on the property at a later date? What about setting up a travel trailer with a well and electric drop?

Several years ago, we bought 4 lots with a well and a barn.....about 4 blocks from our house, where we keep our longhorn steer, Hombre...we have fairly good fences, and it has worked out pretty good....
