I'll have to take a look at it. I've never really read a lot about the art of propaganda as I tend to find most of it pretty transparent. I just ask myself who benefits if I do as I'm being told.

OMG that guy is responsible for most of our current societies ills! He was Freud's nephew and he used some of his theories to figure out how to sell consumer goods to people based on emotion, not need. He became wealthy helping companies sell their goods. He was employed by a cigarette company to influence women to smoke in public which was taboo at the time. Lol he used the idea that women smoking made them independent from men in a rebellious sort of way. It worked of course. He sold the public goods based on the idea that they would make them happy or fulfilled. In the past goods had been promoted based on the need for them and their sturdiness and reliability.

He promoted the term "public relations" because of the negative implications of the word "propaganda" as a result of it's use by the Germans. I'm watching a 3 hour documentary on him atm but am only about 40 min into it.

He is also responsible for the idea that the public is nothing more than a stupid herd and needs to be guided in their political decisions.

They interviewed his daughter - she didn't seem to be too fond of her father. She said he thought everyone around him was stupid and never hesitated to inform them of such.

Invalid if you have allergies try persimmon leaf tea. It tastes good and is very effective - works better for us than medications, with no side effects. I drink it even when allergies aren't bothering me because I like it so much.

Btw, look up some of Susan Weed's youtube vids if you're interested in herbs. Apparently nettle tea is very nourishing and cleansing. She recommends making an infusion of one cup of dried nettle in a quart jar. Fill with boiling water, cap and let sit for at least 8 hours. Can keep it in fridge for up to 3 days I think. It is strong tasting and I wouldn't want to drink it every day but it's supposed to be super good for you.

...

Nettle is fast becoming a favorite of mine. I purchased some "Washington Giant Nettle" from our own Romy "Island Girl" here on these forums.

The dried leaves, which were carefully harvested and dried in the shade by Romy, I crumble into most everything I cook now days. They give the dish a "sweet" taste (Cannot emagine anyone needing to add honey or any other type of sweetener!) and, of course, are very nutritious.

David created some VERY STRONG extract from these leaves...6 jars of leaves over a lengthy period of time in Vodka...and we both "sip" (about 1/2 tsp) throughout the day.

I am fast discovering I don't want to ever be without this nettle!

I enjoy using stinging nettle tea as the water to boil rice and as a broth for soup recipes I make up from whatevers around. You can simmer the leaves drain off the water and press them into little servings to package in plastic/baggies for freezing like spinach or dry them for later use.
