My DH was born in California, but I knew he was a real Texan the day I heard him refer to the heroes of the Alamo in a Sacrament Meeting talk.

Funny, his people settled California before it was a state, on the original Spanish land grants. My people settled Texas before it was a state.

I started this thread to ask a Question I live in katy Tx but have a place in Seguin Tx Will be retiring early (2 years ) .
I want to cut a couple acres out of my place to have a rent a garden , where a person , or family could rent a a 20x20 or larger where they could come out and garden have a family day I would till the garden for them have all the tools for them.. water if they could only come out on the weekends I plan on building a green / hot house for herbs , I hope to plant blue berrys (pick your own ) type stuff , if all goes right I have a large revine I will enlarge and build a large tank catfish crappie ect the kids could fish (WITH PARENTS THEre WiTh Them ) where they could enjoy a day without punks and drunks familys single parents ect >>>> do you think it will fly in Texas ????

Yes, you will be close enough to San Antonio that it should work. However, I don't think blueberries is the best choice for the South -- I never could get them to grow well. Perhaps blackberries or strawberries in raised beds. There is a farm near Marble falls that is doing a pick you own with fruit trees and strawberries and does well. Can't think of the name.

Do be sure to carry the right kind of insurance to protect yourself. Good luck on your endeavour.

soil would be too alkaline for blueberries, might want to get that tank started though, dry times ahead.

mentioned. near Bonham where her land is...
that could be confusing thinking we hay past Texas lol
