Yep, all the way to the bottom of the state about 40 minutes from the border and the gulf. Love it, absolutely love it! I get two gardens a year, great Bermuda grass almost year round which makes lots of milk (dairy cow) and fat horses. No snow, no ticks, no chiggars, no rocks, and no hurry (does the term valley time mean anything!). What we do have is affordable land, lots of sunshine and a gulf breeze, irrigation water so we don't worry about droughts, close to the beach, palm trees, and a small town with a laid back attitude. Did I mention I love it!

Yup, North East Texas here. I am just East of a little town called Winnsboro, and South of Mount Pleasant. Raised in SoCal but got to Texas as fast as I could.
Married a G.R.I.T. and couldn't be happier.

Samm, You must be almost next door to my property. Its right near the Arledge Ridge Cemetary. Hopefully sometime this decade we can finish the house up there!

Glazed, My daughter, SIL and the grandkids live in Lindale. Nice area!

Just south of Fort Worth - not too far from where Whiterock lives. I was born a Yankee and a Yankee I will always be. Texas weather drives me crazy - too hot in the summer and not cold enough in the winter for me.

Is divorce an option? Not letting you go back to Tx. should be grounds for a divorce. (I'm just joking).

I see by Texas measurements I have a bunch of neighbors. And I am sure this will hurt some feelings, but, I dont care how fast you got here, if you werent born here youre not a Texan

Bobby B, I live within a mile of where my great, great grandparents lived, reckon that counts?

Sure it does. My great grand father and a couple of his brothers drifted to Wharton from Georgia. I was born and raised just a few miles from where they settled.

If was going to complain about Texas it would be the fact it takes 8-10 hours to get out of state from my area. Even when I lived in Wharton, same thing.

The second is how the population here has increased so much from people moving in. I cant fault them for it, but I dont like the huge increase we have seen over the last 10 years or so.
