Yes, that way it doesn't matter which way the post is facing, it will stop at the bumps and pull the post up. it really is a neat tool and you do really move from one post to another in short order.

When high explosives are an option, high explosives are the solution.

Their not on sale right now at HF. Anyone know the secret (if there is one) of getting a discount code? There is a place to enter one but I have no idea how to get one. I really can't wait for a sale as I need this wonderful thing ASAP.

2X4 or 4X4 six to eight foot long, a chain and something about a foot tall. Wrap the chain around the post, put the something about 2 feet from the post, wrap the other end of the chain around the X4 and put it on top of the something. Push down on the free end.
If you have a lot of them you bolt a chuck of chain on the X4 and put a slip hook on the other end.

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle.
I don't have a problem pulling them out by hand after I wiggle them around a good bit. Back and forth, side to side, pull.

I just tell my grandson not to touch them, then go back in the house.

1- Approach the Tpost with the knobs facing you.
2- Place a 2' piece of 2x4 upright at about a 45 deg angle between the ground and whatever knob on the Tpost that it engages.
3- Place your foot on the lowest section of the 2x4 creating a little pressure against the Tpost.
4- Push the Tpost away from you so that the 2x4 will ratchet down to the next lower knob.
5- Pull the Tpost back towards you, this should cause the Tpost to lift a little.
6- Repeat #4
7- Repeat #5

I have to point something out here. Look at where the OP lives. In an area with lots of rock in the soil the odds of the wiggle and pull by hand working is very small. After the post had sat there for a while all the rocky stuff settles around it and sets like concrete.

AND. Rocks are hard to find here. I know where they are, and the farmstead is way away from them by around 100ft.

Never heard of that happening. I got a VAC Im giveing my DD and hubby that has the 3pt hitch on it. he ovrhauled the carb and I havnt got it, or I coulda used it. Those arms stick WAY out behind the rear wheels.
Its the same age as the SC I had in my early 20s, 1950, but it just had the rigid Eagle hitch.

I do this all the time. when one bump gets too tall (as the post comes out) the flat U shape just notches itself down til it's caught another, so its like pumping water from an old well. usually 2-4 'pumps' and its up. cheap, simple, and I can haul it anywhere by hand, no pickup or anything. esp when its rained. this is an easy job.
