Any or all of these would be fine:

I used to date a guy that had a '72 Gran Torino...Never knew I liked muscle cars til I drove one.

The ranch DH and I lived/worked on shortly after we got married (mid 90s) had a fleet of late 70s Ford Highboys for ranch pickups. Good times.

And, for practicality:

An '03 F250/350 crewcab. The last year Ford had the 7.3 Powerstroke diesel....

Or for town, a 1952 Buick Special with straight eight in perfect restored condition. Course not that picky if only a Roadmaster is available that would be fine.... LOL Apparently gas mileage isnt a concern in dreamland.

Or for cruisin the interstate, a Hudson Hornet with 308 straight six in perfect condition, year not that important.

I have the perfect truck already.... a 97 F350 7.3l turbo-diesel.

What I want, and WILL have, as soon as I get some extra scratch, is a M35A2 multifuel (will burn anything... prefers diesel, but'll run on gas, kerosene, motor oil, transmission fluid, natural gas condensate [which I have an endless supply of ], and literally anything that'll burn) truck, probably bobtailed...

MUST have a winch on front, preferably on rear too, and a hard shelled cab.

I've seen em anywhere from 3500 up to 7000, and a few sweet ones for ~20K, but that ain't gonna happen.

I had a 1964 Ford step side with a straight 6 and 4 speed with a granny in HS...we could stand on the hood at ball games and it wouldnt dimple. I had the ultra cool beer caps over the dash nobs, my girls garter hung from the rear view mirror, and we could stand on the running boards when we were cold forging mail boxes...ehem....maybe that would be okay or maybe a 67 Chevelle...

That one would fit the ticket!

IF all the people who are owing me money would come thru, it'd be a done deal... as it is, I'm in a hole. Of course, if it were just a couple hours away, seeing it, hearing it, might just want to make me to jump deeper in the hole. (hole: debt)

A '96-'98 Toyota 4Runner. Silver. SR5. Tow package. NOT Limited Edition. NOT with tan interior. Preferably with the running boards on (makes the top easy to clean, and the top rack easy to access). I'm a simple girl.

After years of driving truck Ive realized the Veiw from higher is better. So I want one of those real old International cabovers where the driver sat as tall as the semi trailer.

That really shouldnt be to hard to come by down in your area. Id think$1500 to $2500 should get you one direct from the military.
Seems like the winch runs about grand.

I watch the Govt. Liquidation sales, and some locales have the m35a2's that are actually running and in good shape... unfortunately, they're a thousand miles away. The three local sale sites have them regularly, but they state up front they're in non running condition. It'd be hard for me to figure out, in a pre-sale inspection, what 'was' wrong with them. Then if I won, it'd be a bugger getting an 18 wheeler down there with a low boy, to haul it back.

A guy in CA sells them, overhauled, and bobbed. Not having diesel mechanic juju, I'd rather pay an extra grand or two to know it was already in running condition. The winch would probably get used more than anything, pulling logs out of wet spots I can't get close to, right now.

BIL is a mechanic, but getting him to look at something is like pulling teeth from an 800lb gorilla.

I'm lovin' this thread Y'all have some really interesting rides.

Some of my dreams came true along the way:

'65 Chevy Malibu SS 350 4-on-the-floor, mag wheels, convertible. Executve Blue w/Chamois leather seats 187,000 miles when sold it to my little brother, who totaled it within weeks

1980 GMC Sierra 1500 long bed, 350 quad, with camping cap. In 2004 removed cap due to purchase of gooseneck horse trailer and I needed to haul hay. I still own it. NOBODY but me and hubby drives it! And I watch Him like a hawk!

2007 Chevy Silverado Diesel (Max and Al LOL) with lotsa bells & whistles. My Retirement Ride, pulls my 4horse trailer w/primo living quarters. Rides like a Cadillac - the more weight the smoother the ride. I wanna be buried in it

Note: I paid CASH US DOLLARS for each of these vehicles, brand new. No financing!
Lotsa hard work, frugality, and watching the pennies morph into dollars over long period of time. The horse trailer I purchased "used" from a lady who pulled it twice and parked it - too big and scared her.

I have enjoyed each of these vehicles and I use their capabilities to their maximum potential on a regular basis. I am rabid on the subject of regular maintenance and cleanliness.

That's all I got - TMI probly LOL

In His Love
Mich
