Good grief, what an "experiment"!! Hope the cat moves on and doesn't bother any of your stock. Too bad some of the do gooders from PETA can't come out there and babysit your stock so you can get a good nights sleep!

Has he actually bothered you? I've got a mountain lion (which probably means more than one) right in my neighborhood and he doesn't even eat stray pets. He's never bothered anyone, never killed any livestock, or bothered any people. I know for a fact he's been here for at least 3 years. All that time and there have only been a couple of sightings of him. I know he's there because he leaves his footprints in the snow.

There are a couple of different ones living inside the city limits of the nearest big town. Again, they haven't caused any trouble.

If your cat isn't bothering you, don't borrow trouble.

No trouble yet, and hope I don't have any... hoping that the sound of lots of barking dogs will make it think twice about coming too close.

If it had taken livestock, or a pet, I'd actively be hunting it, with every tool known to man.

I like the idea of having wolves, griz bears, mountain lions and all that living all around out there, it is just the reality of it that bothers me.

Rivers Hobbs was walking through Big Bend National Park in Texas with his parents when the big cat creeped up on him and 'clamped' onto his face.

Cougars in Texas are treated the same as coyotes by the law. Kill anytime , anywhere, with anything. They are listed as varmints.

I do think TP&W likes to be notified for the records.

Lived with mountain lions, no problem. Camped there in fields with them screaming at the other end.

Can't say I've ever seen the need to just go killing them simply because they existed or someone saw one walking in my direction.

Lock your livestock in a barn and go on about your life. If you find tracks, enjoy looking at them. Let the cat go on about its life, unless it really is causing you trouble.

In general they run about a 125 mile circle in the Rocky's. They can travel 25 miles a night or day. They will kill, bury and very occasionally return to it preferring to eat fresh. Expect to see news of it again in 3-4 weeks.
