My brother's way glad for 2011 to be gone. In April, his house burned,he tried to get his little fur baby Annie Girl out - unsuccessfully - and was burned. Lost everything- including his faith. I pray 2012 will be better.

Well I'm looking forward to 2012 with nothing but promise.
After 20 years of perceived prosperity we got slammed into the dirt hard.
2007 and 2008 were our worse years and with a real world education about what is truly important we climbed out of it.
I'm a completely different person because of it.
As of October 10, 2011 we are completely debt free.
Both my children are doing well in their higher educations.
All my family's health is sound including my father who will be 75 in February with a big party planned to celebrate that.
I did have to replace our septic field to the tune of 15K right before Christmas, but I just consider that a bump in the road now. It would have been devastating a couple of years ago.
I wish all a healthy, happy and prosperous 2012.

My opinion of 2011... "Don't let the door hit ya on the way out!"

Looking forward to 2012.

Not everyone's life is sunshine and rose petals.

2011 really bodyslammed me, and I'm GLAD it's over and that I survived it.

Welcome 2012!!!!

Wishing 2011 away? Never. Was it easy or pleasant or profitable? Depends entirely on your perspective and what you choose to focus on -and then - if your head is in the right place and you have your priorities in line - it really doesn't matter what happened.

I find life a much more pleasant and satisfying experience by focusing on the Gift I was offered by enduring the difficulty. The rainbow after the storm if you will.

and then I believe in expressing gratitude for everything - the good, the bad, the easy, the difficult, the stumbles, the triumphs, the losses, the joys and the pain -and the Grace to endure.

Enjoy EVERY year, every day - today -this minute. Remember, we are not guaranteed even that.

My motto for 2012 is:

"Its not that life has been easy, perfect, or exactly as expected.
I just choose to be happy and grateful no matter how it all turns out."

No I am not thankful for the experience of watching the love of my life suffer for 3 months in shear torture and die..I certainly wish the painful days he struggled to breath away..

"Depends entirely on your perspective and what you choose to focus on -and then - if your head is in the right place and you have your priorities in line - it really doesn't matter what happened.

I guess my head was not in the right place or my perspective was wrong , because I think what happened this year when I lost my love matters..

i didn't enjoy watching him suffer & die..That all sounds good but it doesn't sit well when your year has been pure hell..

Nancy237 - very sorry about your loss, I know personally how hard that can be and pray that you find comfort in the new year.

I weathered 2011..but to tell the truth it feels as tho that was the year of "holding my breath"..feeling like the rock was at the top of it's arc and soon to come crashing down.

Now 2012 promises to have the circus of our national election and all the folks preparing for the end of the world as they know it.

All I'm absolutely sure I want out of 2012 is to see someone else in the White House....which of course if the end of the worlders are right I won't get to do.

2011 was a good one for us, beginning to end.

This year starts off with us both in "intestinal distress", staying close to the oval office.
Hope its not indicative of the entire new year.

2011 wasn't the best year of my life, but it wasn't the worst. My thoughts are with those of you who have shared about the loss of loved ones, and who have faced serious financial difficulties. May 2012 be a much better year.......

I feel optomistic about the new year, but then I always do. Happy New Year!!
