I know when I go to see my son in NE Kansas those smaller towns really do live life at a different pace. I know I have been roped into this unsustainable suburban go go go way of life..I just hope I can settle into a more layed back way of life and maybe not have to work 2 jobs for the rest of my life too.
You folks on here have really opened my eyes to what I have been looking for,for a long time.

You better find a way to stop working 2 jobs and live a little before you health decides to put an end to it for you. Ask me how I know. I worked 2 jobs for 15 years up until I had a 3 Heart Attacks in one year and a stroke also before I retired.

Our lives are so rich its hard to get everything in we want to do but retirement (I too work 16-24 hours a week) means we have time to work our property, wrench on our various projects, do the volunteer work we always wanted to do (and for us thats a biggie), we plan and cook great meals, we have more time for each other and use it (this pair of grandparents spends a lot of time kissing up at the pond), we get to read more, we work out at a gym 3 times a week when everyone else is at work, we travel, basically every day is a holiday. But we can do all that because we planned for it for years and worked for this period of our lives. It wouldnt be so rosey if we had to worry about putting food on the table or really trying to make a living on this economy.

Ride horses, drive horses, walk among the animals with my handsome hubby, love on my dairy calf, candle the goose eggs to watch them develop inside, make cheese, garden, have huge cook outs for friends that love to come to the farm, sit on the porch swing after a day of such activities, being on baby watch for a new calf or foal, planning and dreaming about next years additions to the garden and herd.

It's all fun!
Just some things are more fun than others.
