Here is my main article for rocket mass heaters:

Rocket Stove for heating home... - Homesteading Questions

http://www.richsoil.com/rocket-stove-mass-heater.jsp

I plan on updating it a fair bit over the next month or two.

Here is a podcast I did with Ernie and Erica Wisner, Ernie has built over 700 rocket mass heaters: http://www.richsoil.com/permaculture...e-podcast-019/

Here's some stuff on the portable rocket mass heater:
http://www.permies.com/forums/posts/list/80/2558

And ... most importantly: please don't email me. I get so many emails I cannot possibly keep up. But, if you go to the "alternative energy" forum at permies, we have lots and lots of discussion about these. Ernie and Erica are regulars as are some people that do conventional wood stove lab testing, and other innovators in this space.

I think the most important thing to add at this point is that it is completely different from conventional wood stoves. There is no draft; there is no creosote; legality can be an issue; and there is an army of people that have never heard of it before that will be quick to tell you all sorts of things that are not true.

you do have "draft" , the draft takes place in the riser much as a chimney would. after that it differs very much from a traditional burner.

Draft=Draw to me....

everything else I can agree on.

a well designed rocket vs a conventional stove is almost like comparing a diesel engine to a internal combustion...

We had a workshop and I recorded it. Then we did a kickstarter and 900 people chipped in. So we added a bunch of animations and stuff to help folks understand.

No mention of the RMH research headquarters yet,

http://donkey32.proboards.com/

This forum is where it's at for RMH heaters. There are even guys there who developed and make for sale high- temp refractory cores for your RMH. There is analysis with gas analyzers and thermocouples, all a stove nut could want!
Used to post there, I built a few rockets
They are a neat but finicky stove to build!

Has anyone made one for a greenhouse, as a heating alternative?
