Nope, no way!
We had some folks out to buy rabbits one time, really nice folks.
Their daughter asked me for a drink so I brought her in for a glass of tea.
Then in the middle of discussing the rabbits, the mother said she needed to use the restroom & said she could find it herself.........Thought that weird so I showed her inside.
Afterwards the ongoing chit chat ended quickly, they bought two rabbits & left.
Later I went to get something out of the bathroom medicine cabinet & found I had been wiped out! Bottle of vicoden that we saved from my wisdom tooth removal was empty, bottle of Nyquil was gone & they swiped 3 packs of my birth control pills!!
Top it off, looked through the cabinets & all my femine hygiene products were gone, as well as the spare tooth brushes we keep for guest & all the hotel shampoos & such I had collected!!
I was livid! How trashy can one be?
No way would I snoop, thats tacky on so many levels.....

Absolutely not, it would be an invasion of privacy. My MIL snoops in my bathroom cupboards and medicine cabinet and it makes me furious. I like the marble idea, think I might try that next time she comes over. If a friend pulled that, they'd never be invited back.

Honestly? I am a female and would not even think of doing this. And I certainly wouldnt want to think that someone did this to me. Not that there is anything I wouldnt want them to see. And if they couldnt find something and needed it (such as tp or a drink of water)they would feel free to look.
I did allow a customer in my home to use my bathroom one time and she actually took a tour of our home, in spite of my protesting to allow me my privacy.
On the other hand men are curious about how things are made and what something is meant to be so they do at times do something a woman wouldnt. Not looking for something but just being curious.(not my dh)

Wow, that's just so wrong! I'd certainly think about saying 'No' to future bathroom visits by strangers. So sad.

Dang! Well... I certainly won't complain anymore about having that extra half [guest] bath to clean! There's nothing in there to steal. That is un-freakin-believable. I can honestly say that I am stunned that someone would stoop that low.

Oh, and to answer the original question... no, I wouldn't snoop. But, I will admit that I did once look behind the shower curtain to make sure there weren't any lil rug rats hiding there. As I was approaching the bathroom, a bunch of kids were running all over the house and some came running out of the bathroom. I didn't want any surprises while I was doing my business. lol.

No, I don't snoop. It's not my business. I do love to get the 'fifty cent tour' when visiting new friends. I get the chance to gain new ideas, and ooh and ahh over the nice things they've worked on. I do, however, ask for the tour. They'll show me what they want seen, and pass on the stuff they don't. That works fine for me.
Crystal, I'm so sorry that someone took such terrible advantage of your kindness and hospitality. That's shameful.

Female and absolutely not, thats so disrespectful, I'd be ashamed to even have the thought cross my mind. One of my sisters on the other hand does it all the time, when she's coming I hide anything I don't want her to see, she also 'borrows' medication and other things.

About 3 years ago I sold a metal dog crate on craig's list to a mom & her teenage son They showed up about an hour late. Few minutes into the visit her son asks to use the bathroom.
I apologized said my husband was taking a shower in our only bathroom. He wasn't. The son looked me in the eye @ which point I felt he knew that I knew. Gave then directions to the hospital a few blocks away where they could find a restroom.
They drove away in the opposite direction.
We don't keep any meds in the bathroom.
I have always assumed that if you leave someone attended in your home you should also assume that your privacy is compromised. Sometimes it's just someone looking for a sanitary product or tylenol. Sometimes they are snoops. Sometimes they are thieves.
Love the idea of marbles.

Never in the house, but the barn, well I can't resist checking out the tack or sticking my hand in the seed barrel. Just nosy I guess.
So, if I'm coming over, CLEAN THEM STALLS FIRST, don't worry about the house.

Absolutely not. Even when I have pet sat for people, I go in the rooms I need to, I do what I need to, their house is none of my business.

female, and no I wouldn't look in someones medicine cabinet. however, one time my sister stopped by my house with a friend, while I was working. the "friend" stood by the bathroom door tapping her toe while my daughter was in there, then said "It's about time!" when daughter came out. Following that, my daughter then walked into the kitchen and found the same woman snooping through my fridge. I'm sure she did the medicine cabinet snoop while she was in the bathroom.
After my daughter told me this, I chewed out my sister and told her never to bring that woman back to my house. How rude is that!

Normally I would say no but honestly I took and used a qtip from a container on the counter. We did not have a bathroom and we had food but no heat and they had a real home with heat and no food. We provided the food, they cooked and cleaned up and washed clothes. We had the food but no money for such a lux (I like clean ears) as qtips. I told them that I did take them up on the offer of make ourselves at home (after a week of sharing and my seeing those qtips staring at me with each shower). Everyone laughed but to me it was so wrong. I do not even know if they had a med cabinet. Stuff was all over the counters.

Female - No way. If it's closed - whats in it is NOT my business!!
On that note - there are those who seem to leave it all out in the open. DH and I went to a saw mill in our area. The owner invited us into his home to show us the different grades of the T&G pine. Needless to say he showed us all the rooms of his home (except the bathroom) and including his and his wife's bedroom. Adorning all the walls of his lovely T&G bedroom walls, were many many many sets of wooden and ceramic Breasts!!! I guess he just assumed nobody would be offended, LOL. (we weren't, but the funny thing is my husband NEVER even noticed any of them...at least he says he didn't)
