Hugh Fearnly-Whittingstall- River Cottage, about food and Smallholding, which is Homesteading in the UK.

John Seymour- The Fat of the land-about Smallholding in the UK, but usefull here too.

Carla Emery- Encyclopedia of Country Living, If I could afford only one book this would be it! Fabulous!

J. Belanger retired owner of Countryside Magazine, anybook by him is great. But I love best his Raising Small Livestock.

Husbandry, by Nathan Griffith, I think both Griffith and J.D.Belanger are American versions of John Seymour.

I also love Jackie Clay, Novella Carpenter.
