I have several jars, but do not use it as much as I used to.
Still buying lentils for 67¢/lb at the local HEB store.
In fact, I buy alot of food that is in the clearance bin, and base my meals off of that.

The small jar at walmart has always been $1.00 or less. This week it was $2.09.

We stocked up on sunflower seed butter a while back when Target had it on clearance. I've got enough of that in the fridge to get through this years holiday cookies and then some. I usually use it only in no-bakes and peanut butter cookies.

I've made both, but have a difficult time getting it smooth enough. It always ends up a bit gritty. I've used both the Vitamix and food processor and both are not quite as smooth as I like.

Some of you people are getting so badly Ripped Off it is not even funny.
just bought a jar just over a lb. 1 lb. 0.03 oz. Or 16.3 oz.
I paid 1.89 ~! Not in a discount store, not at a place like Aldi's, or places like Dollar General.
But is a Small Town grocery store. And Not the store brand either.
It was Skippy~! And not old stock either, as the Best used before date was Dec. 05- 2012~! So it is rather fresh stocked.
And not a leader, or a sale item, just their regular price.
Others were not much higher. Jiff was a bit higher at 2.50 a jar.
And some of the "Fancy Stuff" like natural or crunchy etc. were quite a bit higher. But ordinary PB was IMO not bad in price.
Now it is time for toast spread with PBJ Yummy in the tummy.

AK, some of the folks here live in progressive areas, where the cost of everything is higher. Name brands here are still in the ~2.50 range for the 1lb jars. Sales last month had them at 1.25/each... I usually stock up on loss leader sales... our 'regular' prices hereabouts are usually better than 'sales' in those higher cost areas (progressives territory).

You are right AK. I wrote "2 lbs." in the OP, but it should have been "4 lbs.". My mistake! But, it still went up 35% over the weekend.

Yeah, and next year they will all switch back. Just the way of things. Went to Sams at lunch, 6 lb can of PB was $7 and change. Even if it doubled, I wouldn't care. GAS is still what's eating me alive...
