Sure as they should be brought up to code.
The one I am renting was even in the court system as I moved in. It was too old according to my county.
But the owner had completely gone through the mobile putting gin brand new copper piping. Updated all the wiring, Which BTW I am in complete agreement with, as now I have no problem at all with all the modern electric "toys" I have. LOL
Even strong enough to have three water tanks in the winter with 1500 Watt heaters in each, and then even plugging in my car which is also another 1500 watt heater, a electric stove, plus electric water heater.
And not once in the 15 years I have been here have I had any problems with electricity.~!!!
So I fully believe in these codes,,,, either Bring The Existing wiring up to code, and the plumbing, or OUT it Goes.~!

So do you prefer your taxes being raised to pay for govt approved housing or do you prefer kicking people out of 20+ year old houses and forced to live in cardboard box on the street?

Just legislating that everybody should live in new approved houses and drive new approved cars isnt being realistic in that not everybody has the kind of income for this to happen. You legislate to require this, be prepared to raise taxes to make it financially possible for all people to do this.

Sure rental units should meet standards, but if somebody is living in an old mobile home on their own property, then they should be left alone. If govt has to get their foot in the door, wait until the property is being sold to impose new requirements. Most likely as land prices soar, any old mobile home would be history to make way for some McMansion after a land sale of some poor or elderly persons property. Forcing somebody without high income to come up with a new approved house after they have their place all paid for is just cruel and barbaric, as it will force them to sell out and rent some approved dump or go live out of their car. But then who needs low income people anyway, we can just bus in illegals from slum 3 hours away to do the menial work....
