My 1720 has the 4 by 3 tranny, 12 forward and 4 reverse gears. About 70% of the time it is in 3rd range, 3rd gear.
The _exact_ loader height depends on the tires, and other options. This is why it is hard to track down the exact numbers you are looking for - 'it all depends'.
The brakes work good, it will dump into a 6 foot high wagon, it reaches a lot higher than that but of course when you tip the bucket down it needs lower clearance.
All the tractors you list are relatives of each other, the xx00 are older, the xx20 are newer, and the fisrt 2 numbers are the size - 17xx is smaller than a 19xx which is smaller than a 21xx model. All will be built kinda similar tho, minor improvements over the years.
I hear getting parts for the xx00 models is getting harder, and the xx10 somewhat as well. Front wheel drive parts especially can be hard to find.
