I second what BTO said - check to make sure that your insurance company will accept it being installed by your guy FIRST. My insurance company will cover a woodstove, but only if professionally installed. I know some companies will not cover them at all.

DH installed a propane stove, got it inspected via County Inspector, and no problem with the insurance company. That was at the place we lived before.

There's not much to an install...most anyone should be able to do it.
