A good dog. Our dogs eat foxes. And coyotes.

If you throw a skunk under there, the fox will run away.

Angry

If I could catch sight of the little varmit I would do just that - it's got some nice hidy holes to choose from. (Did manage to pick off a rabbit in the roses this morning!) Getting trap to see if we can bait him out. It still barks when we go in the house, like it's privacy has been invaded. I'm sure Black Sabbath is in the mix of the hideous radio stations we have to choose from here, but it doesn't seem to bother the fox a bit.

Good luck. They are notoriously hard to trap. I have dug out a shallow hole and set a leg hold trap in it, then laid a clean paper napkin over it and carefully sprinkled dirt over it until it was covered. Every time I've done it, they dug up the trap and turned it over without ever setting it off. How, I have no idea. I have had some success with burying 3 or 4 leghold traps like above and hanging a dead chicken from a limb over them just out of reach. The ones I've caught doing that were all young so it may be because of their lack of experience.

Foxes are easy to trap in a leghold, and slightly harder to trap in a cage trap. But in your situation, I would hunker in a bush right at dawn and start squeaking with your lips like a high pitched little rodent. Kissy noises. He will suddenly appear in front of you and trot right over, and you can blast him with your choice of weapons.

Not saying its a fox....but its hard to believe a fox is LIVING under your house since they shy away from humans...

They are hard to catch in a live trap & i have only caught one in a live trap....

man Ed...that is the gutsiest thing I have heard lately...making kissy noises at the fox. WOW. What do you do to get rid of drug dealing neighbors??? Yes I am sure and OF COURSE I would not be judgmental (oh yes I am)...I just dont' want it next door becuase that sort of activity always leads to other nasty sorts of things usually involving noise at bad times and sometimes gun fire.

Screwing up my courage...

Thanks Ed! Never dreamed I could call it out - the house isn't lived in, so he has pretty private digs. It's been a trouble spot even with full-time residents though.
I'm already practicing my kissy noises. Heeere Foxy Foxy....
