I am camping in Page Co VA and the camper jolted like an amusement park ride would. Wasn't till I went outside and fellow camper told me it was an earthquake that i realized what had happened. I have two kids that are geologists and they were calling me all but instantly. I'll get all the technical info from them I am sure.

I was working on a furnace and it started vibrating pretty strong for about 8 seconds. Came home from work to find out that my well water is now black, JOY.

They took the North Anna reactors offline, but that's routine-- thank goodness, since I live in the evacuation area.

I live about 50 miles east of Mineral (the epicenter), and we don't have any apparent damage. I was driving at the time and didn't feel a thing! I didn't know anything had happened until I stopped, about two minutes after it was over, or thereabouts. It's the talk of the town, for sure.

A friend of mine in DC has a lot of broken glass, and one overturned lawn chair. I think we'll recover.....

I always get nervous when there's talk of earthquakes. That New Madrid fault is gonna go big when it goes!

My friend was in a nuclear research reactor when it hit. His comment on Facebook (after we all knew he was okay) was: Shakie Quakie no radiation makie. Glad to know he can laugh about this!

I didn't feel it, although there was a point where our windows were shaking. Neighbors were driving by with their stereo super-loud, so I assumed it was that (they stopped at the end of our driveway because the mailtruck had stopped), but it was at the same time everyone I know in the area started reporting feeling it. So... maybe. In SC.

Yes. A 2.8 an hour later and a 4.2 just a few minutes ago. They appear to be moving south.
