I like to get organic lard. Cuz pesticide stuff will concentrate in animal fat.

Hot off the press. I uploaded this video about eight minutes ago. It shows a cast iron skillet fished out of the garbage, covered in gunk. The gunk is burned off and a new seasoning layer is put on.

This is how my Grandma would clean her CI. put 1/8 inch water on bottom and heat to a hard boil, take her steel wool and scrub out any stickies. dump and rinse. then she would put on the stove to dry. as soon as the water was gone she would recoat with bacon grease applied with a piece of bread, shake out any crumbs ,put the pan away and eat the bread. thats the way we do it today. and I aways think of gram.
