I've used the Harry Chickpea okra solution in my garden here, when faced w drought but okra is still producing - yes -cut off all lower leaves so the available moisture goes to the pods. It works! (Yes, it's counter-intuitive). ldc

Stand in a galvanized tub or even a big storage tote while taking that navy shower and it should catch most of the water. Then it's easy to reuse it.

Much Thanks!

Was just looking for advice and experience. I'm not planning on standing on my roof with a help sign, Katrina style. And no goverment assistance in my future.
A drought of this magnitude helps test your self sufficiency. I liked all the thoughts and ideas.
I have my own spring and water well but they are both dropping fast. Also I have the city water as a option. Lessons learned here is take nothing for granted and prepare for the worst. I've noticed the city folks seem oblivious to the impending crisis here but they will get a rude awakening soon.

Giddy: no we didnt get that rain, notta drop.

Texican: I agree with your thoughts and I think I will take measures for the future. I think you may be in the same drought I am. Carthage is not far from here.
