Someone told me all McDonalds are now Wifi stations. I guess they figured if forks were going to come in to use their laptop and such, they would at least buy a cup of coffee.
My sister is in a similar situation. Their place sets back in a hollow. Cell phone will only ring if she hangs it on the storm door. Receptions is better during winter when leaves are off of trees. For important calls they either drive to the top of a hill or go into town. They had a Verizon engineer out with test equipment and he said there was nothing Verizon could do to help. She did go with a more powerful model of cell phone, which seems to help a bit.
