The pinched nerve is a constant, never-ending pain. The asthma is under control for the moment, thankfully.
I am uninsured so everything I do is paid cash for- hence why I can't have anything done about the nerve.
I love the spoon theory, btw. It explains II (invisible illness. Love this term) perfectly.

I used to take neurontin. For me it seems there are very few meds that I can take at all without negative reaction, and those that I can take stop working after about six months. I have to take breaks from all my meds to give my body a chance to "reset" to the point where any one particular medicine will again do it's job. I can't take any gelatin capsules though, only chalky one, so the meds that are in capsules I have to take aprat and just ingest the innards. I am a giant wierdo.
I try to take as few man made meds as possible, as I worry about the side effects of synthetic chemicals, as well as I am allergic to most of them.
We used to have great insurance, but we are self employed and this past spring it jumped to 1100.00 a month, and that was with a big deductible and fewer things covered. We had to switch, so now it is up to us to pay for most things. I understand your position 100%.
Hubby's business has really been crippled over the past couple of years, so money is tight. He has spent thousands and thousands on me and my problems, I just feel guilty about asking for more when there isn't a cure for me anyway. Why have more tests done??
