I hate to buy a new car; I swear they could hand me the keys and let me leave without paying and I would still feel like I had been taken.

I do want a truck with a bit of a backseat where we can all 4 fit at the very least. The last time I wished I had a truck-I was trading 2 goats for as much hay as I could haul home and I could only get 5 bails in the back of the van. I'd like to be able to haul at 3 times that much next time.

tallpines-if only I were a bettin' woman. I'm the girl who took $20 to Vegas, bought $2 in nickels and left with $18 in my pocket.

my personal list of trucks I will be getting
VW caddy / rabbit truck with AAZ turbo diesel - front wheel drive haul the trash to dump grocery gitter or 2-3 small bales
one or more japanese cab over(cab over engine) like Isuzu diesel - farmers market and camper
73-79 3/4-1 ton with a cummins 4bt perhaps a 6bt out of a bread truck or bus for pulling and 4x4 needs likely with a ZF 6 speed and NP205

this is my list anyway

I am mad as hell at Dodge. My truck is ok mechanically. It is a 2001 V8 gas with 110,000 miles. But, the dash is crumbling and falling apart. Searching the internet, this seems to be a very common problem on this year model. They used recycled resin or something manufacturing the dash. Dodge has helped owners when TV stations made a stink, but I have tried twice and they turn me down every time. It cost over a $1,000 to fix it.

I have vowed to never buy another Dodge. That is made easier by the fact it is not an American company, hasn’t been for a while. Fiat owns them now.

Buy American - put an American to work.

You know what?

Ive pretty much given up playing politics when it comes to a vehicle, they are built with parts all over the world now so if trying to help a Canadian/American company, forget it.So get a vehicle that works and doesnt totally insult your politics to the point you cant stand it.

For the prices, just figure on this Im going to get something that works and research so i dont get a lemon, they all make those too.Same truck, different year can be a lemon or a gem,do your homework (like the dash mentioned above) !

If I am going to play politics Ive never forgotten Pearl Harbor (and nothing really has changed there either) and flat out wont drive em,that said the Koreans are building state of the art vehicles with fine mileage and features for the price, theyve really got it right at this time and Korean Immigrants cant assimilate into Americans fast enough so I might lean that way, playing politics.

Dodge Diesel, thats a truck.Ferd 7.3 diesel, thats a truck too if value is what you want in an older vehicle, and reliability.
