I'm not sure she actually has a life. She really pumps out the stories. I have been following one on ZS that is extremely long. I think i thas gone over the length of a lot of books. She just lures you in and traps you.

She has a pretty busy life.

I think she must never sleep

If it's the one I'm thinking of, ,I believe it took her about a year to write it

Oh goody some of you are still here. Any of you reading ReneeT's, "Funny you don't look like no survivalist"? Renee is a wonderful writer and as far as I know this was her first story, but if she has others around I'd love to know where. She has had a terrible bout with cancer and I don't know if she came back to the story or not. Thanks

I was partial to Jerry D Young, and am glad he has his own .com of the same name where all his stories are available to read free, or purchase his books.
Also, Freedomofthehills was an excellent author, with his latest ongoing story, I'm sure a lot of people are missing it.

Frugals was/is a great site, but I am sorely disappointed in the lack of an explanation for closing the Patriot Fiction section. I understand that forums are privately owned, and as such owners can do whatever they want, but many of us have been there years, supporting John, and to just blow everyone off saying, "because I said so" has alienated many people.

LOVED ReneeT's survivalist story! I think she's doing well and I hope one day that she will let us know what happens with Elly, Charlie, Mongo and Pa.

TraderBob, I totally agree. Surely some simple explanation could have been offered instead of the brusque brush-off and the banning of one of the authors who dared to ask why.

I totally agree also, if anyone knows how to get ahold of Paradox (the writer that was banned for asking why) I'd love to email him.
I personally thought he was very respectful in the way he asked.

In response to them closing the fiction section I did open my own board and would love to see other writers and readers post there.

I've been reading FOTH story about Einar and Liz for a lonnnng time, with his installments of about 6 chapters a week.
I also started reading the new story about Billy (who had learning disabilities and how he was coping), but don't remember the author.
I think Frugal may eventually realize that about half of the ten people who posted the most (as in the list at the end of the forum) were also the fiction writers.
Although the news angle was sometimes good, many had their own bone to pick, so discretion of what to believe or not was needed.
However, the fiction part really reinforced the preparedness themes in an entertaining way which sometimes is easier to understand than straight out how-to type stuff.
I expect there will be a decline in the members posting if Frugal keeps up with his "boss" position.
Any business person knows that the "customer" or potential customer is always right (even when they aren't) and purposely antagonizing them with no answers or suspending accounts just makes for less and less openness and discussion, unless you can kiss-*** to the boss.
He also forgot that the forum and any customers he got from it was precisely because people did contribute either information or fiction which kept people coming back. Without membership participation, forums finally languish.
I wish the writers would post where their works can be found...and those in earlier threads might, with mod approval, give specific sites we can go to.
Finally, I think Frugal has lost his way with his forum. Saying it is a business is just about the final straw...what happened to his views of freedom, liberty and his Christian attitude? Perhaps he used those buzz-words to try to get more business?

FOTH posts his stories on Survivalistboards as well, although Frugals was updated faster. I'm sure he'll find a home, most likely at pawfiction.proboards.

He still has them as long as you agree with him. I had him at a 4 of July party and treated him like he wanted but he went back and said things about Me and My wife and everyone at the party and forbid me from having another one. I cussed and had two more. One of the guess did the same thing and he forbid him from having another one. We are banned for life but it doesn't matter I quit before he banned me.

He "forbid" you from having a party? That takes gall. I'm sorry to hear you had these issues. Things are changing there, no idea why. I'm glad you found another place to hang your hat on the web.

I think it is rather rude to bash another forum over anything, particularly if you are not cognizant of all the facts.

This is moldy - I won't bash the other forum, but I do admit I am now thinking about ordering from mypatriotsupply instead. It's sad as the other forum's actual business has always been prompt and priced reasonably. I have been treated rudely by one of the moderators, and just decided there are some subjects I should not address there.

Kathy in FL has her own blog with all her stories, including a new one. If you google blogger.com, then search for "Kathy in FL", you should be able to find it.

Freedom of the hills also has his story on a blog - there is a link on Kathy's

I had just taken the plunge and started a story over there. Unfortunately I had not been saving on my computer. I sent a pm asking if the information was lost or if the authors could have access to download it. I didn't get a reply, and I can no longer log in this morning...

sandc. I am so sorry you didn't save it on your computer. I usually write mine out in Word and save it before I post it and I also email myself a copy so if anything happens to my computer its still on a mail server somewhere.

Please consider restarting your story on the board I just started for stories. (link below)

I agree and won't bash him, its his business and he can do what he wants, even if I disagree, but you can tell a lot of people are passionate about that section.

I did what he suggested, and started my own board for stories - I hope to see those interested in both writing and reading that kind of fiction there.

Rancher, Could you give a specific link to Kathy in Fl blog...I can't find it...maybe because I'm dial-up...
PM if not allowed to put here.

Cyngbaeld, Just a comment and not wanting to start anything...maybe rude, but in other instances, people just say they are "ranting." Or, are other forums protected from ranting/rude like a "professional courtesy?" Many of us are just very frustrated...and maybe IF WE DID know the facts which were never offered, we wouldn't be in such an uproar.

Meanwhile, back to homesteading...
