I'm using FF5 and the only problem I've had was this morning after I installed an update to my firewall...had to go into the FF tools and re-check "no proxy" before I could get back online.
I love FF...it's SO much faster than IE (and it's supposed to be safer, too).

I finally got it fixed but I had to find a new mouse driver. Completely uninstall all FF ref reload FF3.6.19, Reload Java,Flash and Adobe. If I didn't have so much info, bookmarks and the like in FF I would dump it. I'm using Opera right now. Not bad and the new 11.50 is fairly decent
The whole problem with this stuff is we bought into the game. In the old days you wouldn't put out a product like this. But Gates changed the game when he got people to buy into Windows and let the consumer do the debug and invest the time to get things right. Now they all do it. Throw out some glittery software package and people get hoked on it and even though it is free you pay a wicked price for it. If FF invested as much time in debug as they do 3rd grade graphics and smiles on how you feel it could be a decent product. As it is its ,and the rest, are only 1/2 step ahead of IE

What does 'use private browsing session' mean in FF? I get that it's a privacy issue, but what does it do exactly?

.................It is my understanding that each and every website has forplay with every computer that visits , this happens when any visited site implants cookies onto "Your"(generic) computer ! Then , when you return , the site can determine that you have been here 'before' based upon it's cookies left there for each previous visit .
................... Now , you can erase your internet Browsing History which will erase all cookies implanted upon your pooter from ALL previous visitations . This will be most obvious , when you log onto your regular daily favorite websites......like HSToday.........cause it'll ask you too ......Log In , like it doesn't recognize you because You've erased the cookies implanted on your pooter ..........by HST ! , fordy

I finally UNinstalled FF 5. I installed an OLDER version, but I can't transfer my bookmarks into it.
I'm really tired of this.
Is the Firefox 6 out for regular folks? Is it better? Will it accept the backup file of my bookmarks from FF 5?

I am COMPLETELY giving up of Mozilla Firefox. Seedspreader suggested I try Chrome, and after I figured out how to import my bookmarks, that's what I'm using. About to remove Firefox completely.
Also changing from Mozilla Thunderbird for email to coordinating my two email accounts (business and personal) through Gmail.
I just do not have time to deal with software that doesn't work correctly, causes my computer to bog, and has to be tweaked!

I am currently running Firefox 6 Beta with no problems, and all the addons still work as well! Also, Chrome is a very good browser as well.

Same here... I'm stuck on version 3.5.1. Unless the latest greatest version will fix my breakfast for me, I've no reason to change. Of course, I'm driving a 15 year old truck... if it works, why change?

That's what I did. Chrome is working nicely. I just with it would save my settings about the tool bar from one session to the next.
