I'm not interested in investing, but I might be interested in a $300 lake front lot that has a boat ramp. As long as it is buildable.
What's the weather like in the winter?

I was reading and wanted to add I found this homestead community while searching the internet. They even make money teaching others what for them is a way of life. If they can do it so can others. SRM

Once people start investing their money, they get to start telling you what direction your homestead will take. Are you ready for that? Ready for the eventuality that you could end up pushed out of the decisions? I'd keep my non-profit separate from my homestead. I'm not saying it can't be done because it can. But it would take a lot of deep thinking to get it set up in a way that everyone can live together in peace even most of the time.

Well my aunt lives in Waco and never heard of Mount Carmel until the incident happened. There are good Christian people all over Texas that don't plan to fight the government. Waco was just a smaller town that is growing like the rest of the area.
It also has a great college and the Texas Ranger Museum, plus many rural farming communities that practice homesteading.
Comparing Waco to what happened there is as bad as blaming Dallas for the Kennedy assassination. I don't blame Oklahoma for the Elohim City compound there. Idaho? It is a great state. Polygamy in Colorado? Not for me.
The soil is fertile in that part of Texas. Things grow there with a long growing season and mild winters. If I didn't love the cold and mountains I might be there too. SRM

It's funny and sad to me how so many people in this country see the bad in something and dont even try to see the Good . I work at a grochery store , and yesterday we got in about 300 localy grown water melons , and i thought it would be good to cut one up and give out samples , some people where nice and very happy to see this and to get a slice , but there where about a third that i offered it to , that looked at me like i was giving a way something we wonted to get red of , some old water melon that was no good and where very suspiches of it . these same people i have see before , thay rarly smile , never tip the people that carry there grocherys to there cars and never even return greatings of Hi or Good Morning . No its not funny , its very sad .
I dont have all the anssers , and thats the reason , i ask questions , lission , learn and have a opened mind to others ideas . stop living in the negitve part of your mind , greet people you dont even know , when i worked at a feed store in oregon and would go out on deliverys , i would wave at every one i could , to see if i could get more people to be friendly , at first many would not wave back , but as the weeks went on more and more would , and more and more would be smiling too ,,,,,,,,,,,

Tipping for people toting out your groceries is just like tipping at a reastront , if you appreciate what there doing for you , and a tip isent going to brake you , then if you feel like it , tip them , if not , dont . but being nice makes the world a better place ,,,,
