Thank you. I'm using a Nikon d60 that I got a few years ago....my first digital camera. I like it for what I want to do...I guess. Still learning these digitals. I use a 55-200mm mostly and sometimes a 18-55. Still have my old Nikon manual camera with a few lenses and have tried the old lens on the new camera. I need to take the time to play with it awhile, but they do work. I really want a macro lens....any suggestions? I love your pics! Right now I'm using the screw on magnifying lens, but not wanting to lug around a tripod, it's hard to get in focus and hand hold still.

Annie…Most my lens are used ones from the 80’s-90’s. Bought 2 new ones back in 86 the rest I bought just past couple years most for less than a 100-200. Yes, they work fine, I use a D200 tho. But on D60 I think you cant AF with the old lens. About any macro lens is a good one. For bugs/nature things the longer ones work better of giving you more distance to not scare things…I bought the Sigma 180 macro. I used and still do some the screw on magnifying lens…. a +4 . Actually the fly I just posted I used one on a 35-70 ....the wasp on pg4 was also the 35-70 +4. I'm getting to shaky to hand hold much anymore, I use a monopod 75% of the time.Occasionally I'll use a tripod.

I love all the pics, as I have said many times. Quality has been great! But, I would enjoy the photos of just around the homestead and not the ones all the time one has to work to get. Please, someone send an new pic of the day thread! - Homesteading Questions

Thanks stockdog. Read a few of the reviews online of the Sigma 180 and they were very positive. I want to be able to get a little bit away from the subject I'm taking a picture of and this lens has good reviews for that. I'm a chicken.....I don't want to get as close as you did to the wasp!

-Here's another cloud pic. I took it last week the day after a bad storm came through at night. Peaceful now, but I thought the roof was going to come down during the night.

This is an old swimming hole in these parts called " The Falls ". There used to be alot more water flowing, so a couple locals are damming it up for better swimming or cooling off.
