Doc, The simple solution to the problem is to call the sheriff the next time this happens. I wouldn't even bother to call your''friend'', the landlord. There is nothing that will dampen the spirits of a rowdy party quicker than a visit from the cops, especially if there are drugs at the party. If you don't do this,I can assure you that the parties will continue. Your neighbor's place has obviously been designated as the Party Place because they think that they can get away with their antics without being hasseled. Its probably why he moved there in the first place. I have a good friend that likes to have a couple of these types of parties every year(without drugs), but he has the place for it...160acrs... more than 1000ft from the road & almost everyone spends the night(to avoid driving while intoxicated). We usually start in the afternoon & have several smokers going. We have lots of food & drink, & when it starts getting dark we have live music & a fire. The music is amplified,& I am sure that some of the neighbors can hear it,but I do not think that it is considered to be a nuisance because we have been doing this for over 30yrs & we have never had a complaint. Its all about how & where you do it. If you feel that your neighbors' party is infringing on your right to privacy you should call the police & make a complaint.
