The 7.3 is a T444e which replaced the DT360 it's big brother the DT466 got the E so called upgrade to survive into the future. I'd love to find a bus with a DT466 to replace my T444 powered bus but they just don't tend put them into short buses, bummer

I've seen short freightliner buses with the Cummins 6BT which is the same displacement as the DT360.

it also dependeds if your talking about a 7.3 idi or a 7.3 powerstroke. the power strokes are navistar engines which is a division of international.

speaking if the 466, when I need to replace my 97 f250, IM going to upgrade to a medium duty international with the 466 and a stick

we have a 1994 with a 351 and have custom rear springs and the whole rear suspension was done by a spring place. its the F250HD

I stopped by Autozone, Atwoods and walmart, and none of them had the ph test kit or even knew what I was talking about. Guess Ill have to take it to a diesel place. I just got a 96 350 with the 7.3 and have no idea if the coolant has been maintained.

i am leaning t the 4bt maybe the 6bt dependant on whats the use is or the tiny terror in the NBT ? trucks all nice small ones

I'm a newb that's looking to get some knowledge on diesel engines and what would be best to look for in the truck I would like to buy within the next year (going to be looking for a used model to pull a large travel trailer and sometimes a car hauler, then any other farm related stuff I'll find for it haha). Looks like there's a lot of you guys on this thread who know what they're talking about.
Any diesel specific forums you guys would suggest or maybe Ford Truck forums with a section on the diesel offerings so I could learn a little about which ones have the best/worst reputations, and general maintenance stuff that a "non-diesel" enthusiast buying one for the first time wouldn't know about?

Water wetter helps with coolant temperature issues. I've never heard of it used as a pH agent. If you're looking at a 98 to 01 Dodge Cummins you need to know about the issue with the some of the blocks.
