Thanks for all the kind replies everybody. No, we never even thought about having an autopsy done. By the time it was mentioned he'd already been buried. I wouldn't have opted for that anyway unless I really thought someone had poisoned him. The kids wanted to bury him so thats what we did. My husband took half a day off to come home and take care of him. I had been home all week and nobody was around to bother him. I just found out one of his littermates died the same way a few months ago. I'm satisfied that it was a natural death.... for whatever reason, it was just his time. ): He sure will be missed.
